How Often Should You Get a Gel Manicure? Maintenance Guide
For most hand services at ByKris Beauty Lab, we recommend returning every three to four weeks. Natural nails continue growing beneath an overlay, shifting the balance of the structure and leaving a visible growth area near the cuticle.
Why Waiting Longer Is Not Always Better
A manicure that still looks glossy is not necessarily due to remain on indefinitely. Growth, impact and day-to-day wear can increase the risk of lifting or cracks. Very long intervals are not a substitute for maintenance.
Signs You Should Contact Your Nail Artist
Get in touch if you notice lifting, a crack, a snagging edge, discomfort or a change that concerns you. Do not glue down lifted product yourself, and avoid picking or peeling off gel. A nail artist can assess cosmetic product issues; symptoms that suggest infection or another medical concern should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional.
Simple Habits Between Appointments
Use cuticle oil if it suits your skin, wear gloves for prolonged cleaning tasks, and avoid using nails to pry open packages. Choose a length that fits your work and lifestyle. These habits can help reduce accidental damage, although no manicure is damage-proof.
